Breast diseases, or Stana Roga, have been a subject of Ayurvedic research for centuries. These conditions, which range from benign disorders such as fibrocystic changes to more serious diseases like breast cancer, present significant health challenges, especially in women. In the Ayurvedic system of medicine, the treatment of breast diseases, referred to as Stana Roga Chikitsa, emphasizes the balance of the three doshas Vata, Pitta, and Kapha and seeks to restore harmony within the body through various therapeutic interventions. Modern medicine, on the other hand, employs a more targeted approach, involving medications, surgeries, and radiation. This research aims to compare the traditional Ayurvedic methods of treatment for breast diseases with modern medical approaches, analyzing the benefits and limitations of each system. It explores the underlying principles of Ayurvedic treatments, such as the use of herbal formulations, Panchakarma therapies, and lifestyle modifications, and evaluates their effectiveness against conventional treatments like chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation. By integrating both perspectives, this research aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of how the Ayurvedic system of medicine and conventional medicine can complement each other in the management of breast diseases. The hypothesis posits that a combined approach of the Ayurvedic system of medicine and conventional medicine may offer a more holistic treatment, addressing both the physical and mental aspects of breast disease management. This comparative research aims to fill the gap in existing literature, providing new insights into integrative healthcare for breast disease treatment.
